FIRST TIME USER Information .......................
You will need to create a user name and password using our free registration link. We ask that you provide some basic contact information that is highlighted in red (NOTE: We will keep this information confidential and only use it for purposes of this web site). Please be sure to enter the club name you are a member of in the CLUB name field.
We make all prints using our own high quality dye-sublimation professional printers using the high quality image taken by the camera.
The most common problem that keeps users from accessing our web site is that they have their Internet Explorer PRIVACY level set TOO HIGH. It needs to be set at MEDIUM HIGH or lower (i.e., HIGH or BLOCK ALL COOKIES, will not work).
To set this parameter while in Internet Explorer
1) select TOOLS-->OPTIONS
2) select the PRIVACY tab
3) move the slide bar to MEDIUM HIGH or lower
4) click the APPLY button
5) then close the INTERNET OPTIONS window
If you are concerned about security, change this parameter to access our site, then change it back when you are done.

Merchandise Orders
Eileen Erichsen has volunteered to compile the FFYS merchandise order for the 12 & Under State Meet. The order is due to USSC by Feb. 18th. I will be emailing our order on the 18th so I need email orders to me by 5pm on Sunday Feb. 17th. The pre-order info is attached to the 12 & U State Meet info we received today. High School Times Reminder
As the championship seasons approaches, it is important to remember that proof of time is required for entry into all championship meets (Y states, Y zones, Y Nationals). If your best time in a certain event came from your high school season, you MUST provide Rich with those results.
Rich needs to have the ACTUAL results from the meet. Top times reports, newspaper articles, etc. DO NOT constitute proof time. The results from the ACTUAL MEET AT WHICH THE TIME WAS ACHIEVED is the only acceptable way to prove a time. I will have copies of ALL HIGH SCHOOL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MEETS (DIVISIONS 1, 2 and 3). I will also have a copy of the BOYS W.L.A.A. Conference Championship meet and any dual meet from Northville High School boys'. Other than those exceptions, I need you to get your time proof to me as soon as possible!

Y State Time Proofs
Time Proofs for nest weekends YMCA State Championships must be turned into either RICH or BOB (NO ONE ELSE!!!!) NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 20 AT PRACTICE. Bob will be at the YMCA from 6:20-8:00, Rich will be at North from 5:45-8.
The only acceptable time proofs are copies of the ACTUAL results from the meet! Please get with your high school coach ASAP and get these proofs to Rich or Bob or you will be scratched from your events!

Attached is the entry for the BC District Meet. Swimmers are eligible to swim at BC Districts in any event that they have not yet achieved a Junior Olympic (Q2) time standard. For example, if your swimmer has a JO time in the 50 free but has not achieved a JO time in the 100 free, they can enter the district meet in the 100 free but not the 50 free. Time Trials at Clusters UPDATE
Time trials will be offered after every session at the Cluster Championship Meet this weekend. All events will be offered during each session, with the exception that distance events longer than a 200 yd event will not be offered following the Sunday morning session. It is highly recommended that if you want to time trial a 400 IM or a 500 free, that you arrange to do so during either of the time trial sessions being held on Saturday.
At present, it is estimated that time trials will begin on Saturday at 11:00am, following the morning session; and at 3:00pm, following the afternoon session. Of course, you are advised to arrive prior to time trials in order to register for time trials and warm up as appropriate. On Sunday, it is estimated that time trials will take place following the 1000 free, at 12:00pm. Time trials following the final session of the meet, are expected to begin at approximately 5:30 pm.

Michigan Open clarification - Feb 6th
Only events #19 and #20, the women's and men's 500 free events on Saturday morning, will be limited to 5 heats per event. The psych sheets for these events are now posted on the OLY website at www.olyswim.com.
All age group swimmers entered into 500 free events on Friday evening will swim. There are no limits on Friday evening events.
The Friday timeline and psych sheet are also posted on the OLY website.

Important Information for Michigan Open Meet
Coach Cooper has requested that the following information be sent to all teams entered into the Michigan Open:
For time constraint reasons the men's and women's 500 freestyle will be limited to the top 5 heats AFTER scratches. There will be no event changes but we will reimburse entry fees for those that are unable to swim the 500 because of limitations.
ALL swimmers entered in the 1650 freestyle Friday evening will be able to swim.
There will be NO deck entries allowed.
Warm up for the 12 and under sessions on Saturday and Sunday will begin at 12:45 pm and the timed finals sessions will begin at 1:30 pm.
Entry into the Natatorium will be through the main athletic building entrance in the front of the building at the top of the stairs. Admissions will be outside the pool 'bleacher' doors, down one level.

Below is the order form for anyone interested in team Championship Caps. We are intentionally am using the lime caps from last yr to save some money for our families and the team. There are 25 caps that are being sold along with some Sililcone black caps from years past to reduce our team inventory. As indicated on the form the lime caps will be first come first served.
You can put your order in the merchandise folder Mon or Tues or hand the order to me on Weds at the Spirit Dinner. As in the past swimmers participating in Zones will be receiving specific team caps for that meet.

Meet Volunteers
During the championship season, meet hosts often require that visiting teams help with timing or officiating at the meet. For the Y Cluster meet, we are required to fill 2 volunteer positions for each session of the meet. If you have been assigned to time, there will be a timers meeting held before the start of the meet which will fully explain the job.
The following families have either volunteered or have been assigned to work at the Y Cluster meet on Feb 9th and 10th. Thank you very much for offering your time for the team. FFYS Holiday Meet Participants:
- Due to the length of the Sunday morning session, we will attempt to start the Sunday morning meet a few minutes early. The warm-up session will run from 7:30am to approx. 8:00am (shortened by 15 minutes). First event approx. 8:15am.
- Note: The Saturday morning session does not change (warm-ups 7:30am to approx. 8:15am / First event at 8:30 am).

If you are attending the Club Wolverine meet please note the following changes in the schedule. Also note that deck entries will be accepted for all sessions. Please note the two schedule changes below: Saturday Morning Prelims Warm-ups Begin at 8:15 a.m. Check-In Closes at 8:30 a.m. Meet Starts at 9:15 a.m. Sunday Morning Prelims Warm-ups Begin at 8:30 a.m. Check-In Closes at 8:45 a.m. Meet Starts at 9:30 a.m. Other sessions running as published. 2. Parking on Saturday – Due to a Craft Show sale at Huron High School all day Saturday, parking for the swim meet is limited to the large lot below the tennis courts (off Fuller Rd). Unless you have handicap needs, please use only this lot. Thank you for following the directions of parking attendants that may be on duty. 3. Warm-Ups – Teams will be assigned lanes for general warm-up. Please check postings for lane assignments. 4. 11&Over 400IM and 500Fr – Reminder, the top 16 seeded swimmers in these two timed-final events swim in finals. 5. BBD 2007 Meets - Venue Change
Fall Festival/Sunday Fun Meet Location Change to Lake Orion High School
As you may be aware....... BBD was informed by the Royal Oak School District that we will be unable to use Royal Oak Middle School for our Fall Festival/Sunday Fun Meets on October 20th & 21st.
Royal Oak is hosting an open house for the new middle school that weekend making the pool unavailable for our use. The YMCA had a contract for the pool arranged last spring, so this change is very unexpected.
We are pleased to inform you that the meet will now take place at Lake Orion High School. Please click on the link for a Map to Lake Orion High School .
Please let all your swim families know of the change and/or direct them to our website for more information.

Urgent - Registration
If you are receiving this email and have not registered your swimmer, you must do so by Friday September 21. The YMCA needs all registration paperwork in by Friday. There are 30 more swimmers in the pool than registered.
*If your child is a high school female swimmer, you must have her registered with the Stingrays by this date also. You need to pay the team registration fee $75.oo (per family only) and the Michigan Swimming fee of $52.00 per swimmer. The monthly group charge will start in December.
We don't want to leave anyone out. Please contacts Laura Olson if you have any questions.
DRD Meet Entries
Due to the popularity of the DRD meet on October 13 and 14 I will be sending two team entries to the host. If you would like to be included in the first entry, please send your entry to FFYSMEET@YAHOO.COM by Wednesday, Sept. 19. The second entry will be submitted after the original FFYS entry due date of Sept. 21. You are highly encouraged to send in your entry by Wednesday.
DRD Meet Fees
For swimmers attending the DRD meet Oct. 13 and 14: The first page of the meet entry packet neglected to mention that there is a $1 swimmer surcharge fee for each swimmer entered in the meet. This is a standard fee for all USA meets. If your swimmer(s) is attending the meet, please include in your entry fees $1 for each swimmer attending from your family. Meet entry fees are payable to Farmington Family YMCA.
Sunday Practices
There have been some questions as to Sunday workouts. The deal is if we have a meet, we have no sunday practice (whether you are going to the meet or not). No meet, we have practice!

Long Course National Meet Results
Our team placed 6th in the nation as a team at the long course nationals this past week. The girls finished second and won both the 200 and 400 Medley relays, coming within .11 of the national record in the 400 medley. Katya Bachrouche was national champion in both the 200 and 400 I.M.
Pre-Fall Practice
Practice for August 13-31 will be Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at the YMCA from 6:15-8:15 p.m. These practices are offered only to gold and senior group swimmers. Silver, Bronze and Mini-ray have this time off.
There is no fee for the August practices if you were registered for the long course season. If you would like to swim the nine practices in August but did not swim long course, there is a $50 fee payable to the Farmington Family YMCA. Give your check to coach Rich at practice.
Fall Practice
Fall practices will begin Wednesday, September 5th. Times and locations are anticipated to be the same as last year, although this still needs to be confirmed.
